Are you taling about Waxy Maze and Maltodextrine?

To most the marathon is the ultimate test of human endurance. To us it's just the cool down!

Pain is temporary - Quitting lasts forever

Regardless of how hard you train - The time is going to go by anyway so if you are going to throw a leg over your bike you may aswell bust you ass, make as many watts / do as many intervals as you can.

Maltodextrine is a synthetic, carb. (More complex that simple sugar or honey) Search the forum for it and you will find some info. Typically found in most "energy" drinks like Gatoraide, E-load, Hammer Gel drinks and also in almost every type of calorie Gel out there. (Cliff SHots are based from brown rice) It's basically a complex sugar....In a manner of speaking.

Waxy Maize is a natural starch. Many say it has slower and better absob than other types of carbs. I have used it a little in off season training and the one thing I like is I get ZERO crashes at all when taking PWO. It doesn't taste like anything but it does have a chalky consistency. Many feel that it is the best for glycogen storage. WM has a much higher molecular weight than dextrose and maltodextrin so therefore passes through the stomach much faster, thus it is said to eliminating the risk of stomach issues.

I hope that helps.
Cheers,
G/L.

One of the best is dextrose.

i like the waxi better than dextros/malt...
seems to be better at replenishing glycogen stores than alt...
plus eliminates any bloat or digestive issues; this is especially beneficial if you take post training and are going to be training again within next few hours

I've been using waxy maize lately and feel like it is helping with recovery.
Recently someone suggested to try karbolyn instead.
Any one familiar with this product? http://www.professionalsupplements.net/

I've always had great results with Dextrose. It's dirt cheap and just sweetens up my post workout protein drinks.
