Thanks ! You've solved my deficiency. All I need to do now is eat " Fish 'n Chips " with malted vinegar while I read the " Cutting Edge Muscle " posts, right ???

Does this mean we're finally catching up to the looney fad diet folks?

Well, people always criticize me because I'm too conservative and want to see lots scientific proof that something works.

I've been experimenting, and I'm currently preparing a detailed post on the benefits of colonic irrigation.

Can I take vinegar in every meal? Should I note better results using it that way?
On the other hand, if I exceed recommended dosage , for instance taking a salad, is there any problem?

Thanks.

This is similar to a long thread over at Avant lead by ElsiVolk(?). As I recall, the discussion was about how the body tried to stay within a narrow range of ph. The vinigar upsets this balance and somehow or other blocks absorption into fat cells. I'll look it up when I've got a minute and post the thread here.

And we'll collect the moments one by one. I guess that's how the future's done. Feist, "Mushaboom", 2005

Found this interesting post in Avant archives. Had forgotten that Nandi had already participated. EV had nothing to do with this thread. Enjoy, this is an example of colleagial exchange at its best.

I thought you might be interested in reading this web page:

"I tried adding two mls of cider vinegar to my warpaide (a legit version of gatorade) that I drink during my workouts.

Never again. Few things are less refreshing than vinegar. Simply unbearble. Maybe a swig or two straight from the bottle post workout, but never during. Trust me" posted by monkeyballs

ok so normally i take MD at his word but i am a gluten for punishment. so i had to try it. ive been putting apple cider vin in my pre and post shakes aswell as using it during the day with my veggies....but i had to know. i had to find out how bad it could be during training.

during a 2hr bike (hr 140-150)/ 30 minute run done brick style (one after the other) i mixed up 1.5 litres fluid replacement (470 cals total, i normally aim for 225-250 per hour) that i normally drink during the bike portion and bravely added 7ml of apple cider vin.

result: i didnt even notice the taste and i had noticeabley more energy and overall better feeling (lower PE) on the 1/2 hr run. so i thought ok, may have just been a good day, so i tried it again this morning, same 2hr bike but with a 1hr swim right after. same exact result.

try it in your fluid replacement and share your thoughts.

I heard that pickle juice was really good for you. I remember watching a football game a while ago and the broadcaster talked about how the coaches filled all the gatorade buckets on the sidelines with it. I've gotten used to the taste--I have to admit I actually like it now, though it seems to really gross out my roommates. Can't tell you if it works though, I can't put on weight to save my life.
Oh, also vinegar tastes really good mixed with spinach. I eat it all the time--real tasty. I've done this before I even got serious about lifting, is that normal or maybe just a southern thing?

Would it be safe to consume 1/2 a shot(is that 5ml?) of vinegar before every meal? Would this excess acid cause acid indigestion or maybe even stomach ulcers?

I have been taking 10ml of vinegar for beakfast and post workout for the last 3 weks or so, and I have liked the results. I have looked fuller and more defined. I also liked using it for my carbup(i had 400g carbs, 100ml white wine vinegar) and looked great the next day.

Would the differencebe apparant if consuming the vinegar pre meal as opposed to during(which I have been doing)?

I would add citric acid to the mix also if only i could find a good UK supplier. Anyone know of one?
