Hey bro’s I noticed most of you guys inject into the side of the quad. I inject right on top in the middle. Why is it that most of you say not to do this? I experience more pain when injecting in the side versus the top, the only thing I notice is sometimes the pain associated with some gears "travels" down the leg into the knee. Let me know what you guys think, hopefully I am not doing something really wrong. thanks
Well, I know there is a large nerve right around where your shooting. The side has less nerves/veins. I dont know what you mean by the gear "traveling" I have never felt the gear travel down my leg.
Nerves travel with your blood vessels, and the major blood vessels in most of your extremities are concentrated to the inside of your limbs and digits( fingers). this is a built in self defense mech. So as for your shoulder and quads, you should stick toward the outer middle area to avoid areas of larger blood vessels and nerves. Gear traveling toward your knee, not well versed in this area.
i have never tried a quad shot. i've done shoulders & glutes. is the outer quad more painfull than glutes or delts w/a 25g 1" needle?
i always shoot from the side around mid quad... quads definitly have more nerves than glutes and delts. i've only heard of a few people that shoot down into the outter section of the quad. (not the middle of it)
hey, that thing about the gear travelling.... i experience that every time. i get this strange sensation that goes down my leg into my knee and sometimes to my foot. not sure what it is....
So far I have had no problems with aspirating or hitting any nerves there (top middle of quad). I find it an easy and quick spot for injections. I have a hard time injecting in my glutes, I mean how do you hold a needle and aspirate at the same time? I’ve done it before but juice always dribbles down my ass and the needle moves around a bit causing problems;. I will start injecting on the outer side of the quads. So you are supposed to inject into the side of the leg, with the needle horizontal to the floor if you are sitting? As for travelling, I walk a fair amount as I don’t have a car right now so I average 4 kilometres or so walking up hills and I notice with the walking the gear seeps through the muscle into the knee. Thats what I meant by traveling gear.
when i inject the quads i usually do it sitting with my knee bent. tried it with the leg straight propped on the bed the other day and it worked fine too. but i inject on the outter portion of the quad (where your hands would hang if you put them at your sides when standing) and i push the needle in parallel to the floor and perpendicular to the outter most section of the quad. i try to shoot as close to center between my knee and hip (but on the outside). just try to avoid any visible veins. i push the needle in quick for about 1/4 inch (just to break through the skin) then go in REALLY slow... that way if it gets close to a nerve or a tender spot i just pull the needle out 1/8-1/4 inch and angle it a hair and then start pushing it back in... usually takes me about a 45sec to a min or so to work the needle in really slow like this but if it saves the pain from hitting a nerve its well worth it. then just aspirate and inject ( oh yeah, i use a 25g 1.5') goes kinda slow through the 25g but im patient
