Just out of curiosity how many of you guys take time off from training while on a cycle? I am in the middle of a cycle and I want to take a week off from training. My body feels exhausted. I am an IronWorker so I work my balls off every day, then I train after work everyday. So I have been taking this week off but it just eats at me all evening that I missed a training session. After I miss a day I feel like all of the hard work that I have put in is all for nothing and that I have just taken a step back from reaching my goal to be HUGE and FREAKY.

if you feel like you need a break, then take one. a week off isnt going to make that much of a difference in the long run.

I just got off of a week and a half lay-off and its just what I needed. I gained 2 lbs or so. Sometimes you just need to let your muscles heal for a while.

When I take a week off during a cycle, I feel like I wasted money on the juice. If I am going to spend that much money, I am going to workout as often as I can without overtraing. I have done it just for the reasons stated above, I felt like I needed to. I do agree with Hardcoregrowth1, sometimes you just need some time off. Peace.

If you are exhasted and cannot stimulate the muscle as well, or recover as well, give yourself 1-1.5 weeks of light training to get back to normal. You should find yourself more muscular as a result from the much needed rest.

Maybe try an "active rest" week instead. Go to the gym twice, train full body and only do 60% of your max normal weights. Also stretch after every set. This has been shown to greatly aid recovery in several studies, all of which ull have to take my word on.

MABEY A DAY OR 2 BUT NOT A WEEK. YOU NEED TO PUT IN 100% WHILE ON GEAR NOTHING LESS. SHIT TAKE A WEEK OFF FROM WORK INSTEAD.

well i suppose it depends on ur definition of overtraining, there was a huge thread on this b4, no reason to go into too much detail, but i feel if ur not stronger after nearly every workout ur overtraining... many pros have commented that they found out they were overtraining when they took time off and gained weight, size etc. as u did

also, u can still gain weight, whether it be 232 or 332 if ur overtraining, ur just not gaining at an optimal level

scheduled breaks, which include "active rest", like swimming, calisthenics, hiking, etc., are an potent way to recuperate and recharge the body. I schedule 3 or 4 1 week breaks throughout the training year. When I return, I start a new training phase with a different program.
