This study talks about the relationship between SHBG and Insulin... It points out that obese people have high insulin levels and higher then normal SHBG levels... it shows that as someone looses fat their insulin level drops and so does their SHBG level... they come to the conclution that insulin has some control over SHBG but I disagree with that... I believe what happens is as the fat is lost you have lower levels of Aromatise enzyme which is converting Testosterone at a high rate in an obese person... which in turn the higher estrogen level raises SHBG which is well known and as you lose fat the conversion to estrogen will slow which will lower SHBG... still this study shows the benifit of loosing fat...
