This CBC was done last Wed.....and started my E loading the following Sat.

WBC 6.5
RBC 4.88
Hgb 15.5
Hct 43.5
MCV 89
MCH 31.9
MCHC 35.7
RDW 13.8
Platelets 198
Lymphs 26
Monocytes
Eos 4
Basos 1

Everything is well within the normal reference range and my Hemoglobin concentration is stout as usual. Ferritin should be good, but I don't have the numbers to back it up. I have been taking 216 mg. of ferrochel with 100 mg. of Liquid Liver fractions (Heme Iron) with 6 grams of Vit C, b-12, folate, b-complex daily and will continue through loading phase.

I would perhaps try 4-5,000 bro....probably all you need for a good response. You can always bump it up if it isn't satisfactory.
I like to find the lowest dose possible that will give a good response.

Guys,

I'm no Rasmussen. At about 95kg my body mass is high compared to most cyclists. That being said, I am shooting for 5 watts/kg FTP and a 70 ml/kg VO2 Max. I think both are well within my reach at this point when I compare last years numbers with little training and no E (had pnuemonia and a Staph infection for 6 months).

I race crits primarily, but might do a little velodrome this year too. That is if I get my Wingate over 1,800 Watts.

6k eod is way to much

just give your body time to create rbc.

the risk of getting a prca ist way to high especially if you go with the sq route

1000-2000 eod should be ok for loading

which E do you have

Guys,

6k EOD tranlslates to 21k per week. Take a look at the doses that have been administered to patients via PubMed.... 6k is peanuts. PRCA is a small risk, but I don't think dropping my dose 20% or so, will decrease that risk to a measurable degree. That being said IMHO, it's probably a tad aggressive, but hardly out of the ball park for someone with my Body Mass.

I am using Kexing 6k PFS. One shot...Done. Still trying to get my Transferrin numbers from my lab. Had been taking supplemental Fe Chelate at 54mg. per day, plus Vit C, and the B's for months prior to starting my 1 week pre-load of Fe (212mg Chelate plus 100mg Heme Fe, C, B, etc, 1 week prior to the start of the E loading phase.

Plan is to get it up around 55-56 Hct after 10 load hits. I have a Hgb meter which will be monitoring Hgb 2x/week and a CBC with diff weekly til' I find my maintenance dose (Planning 6k E5D).

To get accurate readings from your hgb meter, do you prick the finger or draw from a vein ? I use a stat-site and with the finger prick, i get a wide range in readings, last time i pricked every finger to see the results (g/f was looking at me and shaking her head, i told her i was trying to see what it was like to be a pin cushion )

I use an Hgb Pro meter. Only available to professionals....but I think you can get it on Ebay too. One drop of blood from finger or vein....usually finger tip is recommended. Its pretty accurate. i believe the r was like .998 or something like that, when compared to the lab reference.

I have decided to drop my dose from 6k eod to 6k e3d. I'm going to give it a little more time to hit my target Hct and to make sure my Fe stores aren't exhausted by the time I get there. I'll be taking an Hgb draw next Wednesday (2/6) and another CBC the following Monday (2/11).

Cycle-ist,
I used Kexing last year loading 6k every 5 days for 25 days. By day 17 I'd gone from 40.9 to 49.4 hct. I weigh 81kg, I loaded with 65mg Ferrous Sulfate along with 800mg folic and b's. do you think I should use more iron this year? I seemed to repsond well using that iron dose, but I'm wondering if more iron would give me an even better response. any thoughts?
thanks

I've found you have to watch your dosage if you change between shipments. Last year I was able to get 1% with about 4.5k of E. Now its taken twice that or more. The problem I've determined is with my E. Same brand and source....our friend eposino. The problem I believe has been with the shipping. Probably one of the last shipments before the shutdown and came domestic. Was damn hot when I got it in the mail. I think it was damaged some in the process and not as effective as the stuff direct from china in 3 days which I got previously. Especially since my previous results seem more in line with the results I read here on the board. ymmv...good luck.
