Hi guys. For the last year I haven't used anything but whey protein, creatine with AKG. Does anyone know if AKG could cause a increase in blood pressure? 1 Year ago my blood pressure was within normal range and I don't know what would cause such an increase?

I had a similair experience bud. Got a few questions...how old are you, did you do several tests over about a 45-60 min period, and have you put on a lot of weight in the year? Creatine will cause you to hold water which will add to your BP and adding weight (even lean muscle) will cause it to go up too. If your really worried, go to the doc and have it checked. I did and he put me on Altase after lecturing me about being overweight (not fat, but as he said "weight is weight even if its muscle. Your heart doesn't care." Hope it helps. MdS

I'm 37 about 5'10', 194 lbs average body fat. The only thing that I can think of that increased my blood pressure is AKG if that's possible.

welcome to the club 😀 actually mine changes every time I go to the doc, sometimes fine, sometimes high... I think it depends more on the nurse they all seem to have their own little technique. and if you use one of those free machines dont even worry about it, if you can even fit your arm in one that is. they are made for like a 12" arm maximum. I like sticking in my forearm and getting a deadly reading just for the fuck of it sometimes 😀

If you think its the creatine, try dropping it for a few weeks and see if you BP goes down. If not, have a doc look into it...you don't wanna screw with it. Too many health risks. Just my 2 cents. MdS

What is your most recent reading, and what was it a year ago? My doc said that big arms can give a higher reading, but, even so, my systolic is normally over 140, which is probably a bit of a worry. I'm going to see him again soon and get him to give me a thorough checkover.
