Dumb question on cholesterol and gear, is it the testosterone

hormone itself or any of the other hormones that raises the lipids

and so on or is it the oil its suspended in ?????

My doc says I was 11 points up fro last check up, my cycle had ended , probably 2-months befor bloodwork, also was takin

"zocor" and "zetia" on cycle 2- anti-cholest meds

How much time does the body need to get lipids etc, back on track???

were you taking ai's or anything else. aas have been known to effect blood lipids although with zocor and zetia i can not imagine you lipids going up unless your diet sucked really badly. I dropped my cholesterol from 240 to 159 while on test using a combination of diet, statins and zetia. I expect by now it is going to be down to 110!

oh, and , no it is not the oil it is dissolved in.

makes sure you are taking plenty of fish oil, add in some polycosinol for hdl. if you are taking zocor, make sure you are taking COQ10.

there is a pretty good thread floating around here that addresses these issues.

It's androgens that wreak havoc on your lipid profile. Estrogens exert an opposite effect. With that said, Testosterone is much milder than other steroids due to its ability to be aromatized.

Furthermore, 17aas are much worse than injectables. So, if you kickstarted or ended your cycle with an oral, your lipids took a plunge.

Diet plays a roll as well, you need to eat clean foods low in saturated fats.

My doctor put me on Lipitor about this time last year because I had a total cholesterol count of 253 with and HDL of around 25...Not good. After two weeks of taking the Lipitor I started getting real bad pains at night in my legs and right arm at night. I did a little research and found that this was actually a pretty common occurance with Lipitor, and that there were some worries about a link relating it to bone cancer. I dropped it immediately and started MORE research. The majority of my information was found HERE! (Thanks CEM!)

Anyhow, I changed my diet completely and started the oatmeal breakfast religiously. I now only eat whole grain breads, pastas and other high fiber, low glycemic carbs. I also cut out all processed and fast foods. Next I started supplementation with LOTS of fish oils, flax seed oil, coq-10, polycosinol, and another supplement called Cholest-off which is primarily plant sterols.

I did my last bloodwork ten days after my last shot of a 15 week test e cycle and my TC had dropped to 161! My HDL went up to 34. Considering that these were my levels immediately after cycle, I was pretty happy. Obviously, I am still working on getting these levels even better, and my "super cutting" (Thanks JGUNS!) is dropping my BF levels considerably, which should help even more...

PS...My doctor freaked on me when I told him I was dropping the Lipitor and taking a more natural approach. When he got my bloodwork back he could hardly believe the results and started writing down everything I was taking in order to recommend it to other patients...

We all need to be proactive in our health and management of things like lipids.

Just want to remind the importance of doing cardio training (long walking for ex.) at least 4-5 times a week in order to improve blood lipids.

Both OTC. Polycosinol is dirt cheap. Coq-10 on the other hand tends to be a bit pricy. I like using the 300mg capsules.
