new cutting phase (long time reader, first time poster)

Hey, this is one of my first posts, although I have been in and out of the forums researching for nearly a year now. I am not a bodybuilder, I guess you could say I am a combat athlete, grappling, fighting, wrestling, is what I do, but you all know how to manipulate the diet and cut down so much better I have been coming here for some advice. I am looking to start a new cutting phase, my current stats are 5’10’ 220 lb (99kg) 18-20% bf. Max’s are as follows (lb) bench:320 squat: 450 deadlift: 500 power clean 260

I am going to hit the following:
-clen 3 wks/eca 3 wks (switching back and forth ea. 3 wks)

-clen will top off at 120 or 140 mcg

- I am going to do a 6 week t3 cycle in there also but was wanting to know what you all thought about where I should place it, one thing I read was to start the T3 on the last week and a half of clen through the eca then have it end on the first week and a half of clen next time around. But I wanted to check with the other on the forum before I start

-T3 will top off at 75-100 mcg

-going to aim for 2500-3000 calories a day probably pretty standard 40/30/30 break (protein, carb, fat) but have thought about 1gram protein for each pound idea, not sure

- training is as follows: M/W/F morning lift afternoon sparring, T/TH morning/afternoon sparring, Saturday light cardio, will probably end up throwing in 1 extra cardio a day each week day either interval sprints or low slow distance

As I stated above I have to maintain a weight class so I can’t put on a bunch of mass, I actually don’t care if I lose some mass, I just want to keep my strength ( if that makes sense). But I am looking for the best gear to cycle in with this also, I want to solidify my strength, but lean down, I cant try anything that will make me gain mass because of my weight class (190lb). I have looked into Anavar but have read mixed reviews on it. Any ideas?

Age? What do you mean by light cardio and tell us about your bb/lifting routine.

yes, what is your age...also, ever thought of dropping down in weight class? and just to be clear, you're asking what kind of gear you could couple with your cutting phase, right?

- I am 24 years old
- my weight class is where i need to be at via contract, i need to lose about twenty lb to be in a decent spot, i can do the with just diet and running but i am hoping to accentuate it with some supplements
- by light cardio i mean basketball, soccer, bike, or elyptical for 30-45 min. nothing strenuous just break a sweat and move the body around, pretty much active recovery (i usually hit the sauna or hot tub after to stretch).
-i dont do a body building routine, my weightlifting consists of 3-4 days a week, each day having 3-4 "large muscle group" exercises (ie squat, clean, deadlift, bench, RDL's, and such) and 3-4 "smaller group exercises" either on cable machine or dumbell work (ie curls, shoulder press, DB bench, hammer row, hammer curl, and such) then 2-3 ab or core exercise at the end
-yes i am looking for one more example of a "supplement" i could add to my cutting phase to maintain or increase strength, leanness without adding mass bulk

i think your making a mistake considering t-3 and clen.these compuonds are not for beginners and are for experienced bb'ers.at your age losing 20 lbs should not be a problem and why take the chance with messing with your thyriod.i think exersise and diet are more of what you should be consentrating on!!!!

this isnt the first time i have used either T3 or Clen but it will be the first time i have used them together
-i am planning on clen for 3 weeks followed by ECA for 3 weeks, rotating that 2 or 3 times for a total of 12-18 weeks, i also want to add in a 6 week T3 but i am uncertain of the best point at which to place it.....any suggestions???

suggestion...

stay away from both....

if you are truly competitive in mma, try reading up a little more on different training regimins....t-nation.com has a great read on training for mma....it's quite different than the typical body building routine as you focus more on "core" movements b/c of the functional benenfits...and you'll see where cardio is done much differently....for instance, in grappling you'll need to use your max effort for potentially a long period of time rather than pacing yourself......read up there and tell me what you think.

personally...i'de stick with the E.C.A. stack if anything in the morning and bust your ass on an empty stomach....that will drop the pounds....if you're affraid of losing muscle, try a low dose of test (200-250/wk)....

i had thought about test but i was just worried about the extra estrogen that could result..... which is why i posted hear for some advice......would i have to look into an estrogen inhibitor?

i would use aromasin,with the low dose of test you'll be fine

ive looked around and most people that i have seen on the boards here and at outlawmuscle use 25 mg of aromasin/day, but they are using between 500-750 mg of test a week, should i then only use 10 mg/day or would that not be a high enought dose??
