Thought I would reach out and get everyone's opinion about injections in the quad. I am running sust 350 and deca 300 and wanted to give the cheeks a break. I shot about a 1 and 1/2 cc's of deca in my right outer quad and man is it tender. Feels like someone speared me with a helmet. I used 23 gauge 1 inch needle. Is that too big? I also followed the rule of one hand above the knee on the outer quad muscle. Anybody know of a sweeter spot on the quad. The pain is tolerable but I think it may hinder my performance on squats tomorrow

Virgin muscles will always be tender. Funny enough, my calves first inject was the least painful. I would have used a 23g 1.5in myself. For the record it will be tender anywhere for a while!

^^^ I agree completely. Its very sore due to the virgin muscle. The more you pin your quads the less you will feel it. You really need to rotate injection sites. Your setting your self up for a sterile abscess if you don't, as the oil never really gets a chance to absorb completely, and you constantly have an oil pocket in the tissue.

Yes thats why I am wanting to hit the quads to give the cheeks a break. I will try it again next week and see if I get the same discomfort. So far no swelling or bruising and I pinned yesterday so it may the virgin muscle theory.

Next week pin your quads before you train legs. This will also help relieve some discomfort.

good advice 4th. i like to pin quads after a good leg workout too, say the day after when the soreness is kicking in. when your sore enough from training you cant even feel the pin slide in.

i started w/ the 325 myself for a 10 week cycle, i was a big pussy about needles and could only do my right leg, after about 6 week 2x a week in the same spot i had to break down and ask my GF to do my Left Leg.. she is in the medical field and did the shot like you would expect to have done at the Dr.. the old.. STAB, AND SHOOT... my fucking leg felt like it was gonnd fall off for over 2 weeks... i convinced her to slow down like i do.. injcect in leg 5-8 seconds incersion, another 8-10 seconds to depress plunger, fast pull out... try that, i use both legs and both gluts (she does my gluts) and get no pain.. do 4 hits a week, one in every spot..

The advice is to pin prior to the workout, it works the oil into the muscle a bit more making the soreness/tenderness less.

When I pin a muscle group after a work out(even hours later), I tend to get blood more often when aspirating.
