Filtering may make the solution weaker, that is common sense, you will never be able to purge the filter by 100%, and the membranes itself will bind some of the hormone, but at most you are talking about maybe 3% with a PES membrane, if you use PVDF (Most of the ones we use) it is probably no more then 1%. I would rather have a 1% loss of potency then risk an infection or even just a painfull injection.

goanna, where are you coming up with your 1% theory? If that is correct thats not much to loose for the added sake of fine filtering. I'm sure that everyone here knows that a sterile filter will NOT make you product sterile. What it will do is finely filter out any foreign matter in the solution being passed through it. bs:D

Beleive me, you dont have to try and explain filtration to me Bon Scott, I understand it perfectly, and filtering out the fine particulate or bacterial (yes, .22 filters will filter out most bacteria) matter is important. Even if it is sterile, if there is particulate or dead bacterial matter you can still develop an abcess or experiance pain at the injection site. And my 1% number comes form the fact that PVDF membranes only have a protein binding ratio of about 1%, ad in the fact that some fluid is left in the filters, even if you purge with oil and air, then maybe I should have said 1-3% with PVDF and 3-6 with PES.

I wonder if you can visibly see these particles floating around in your vial with the naked eye? Reason being, if it appeared clear, I wonder if you could get away with just baking it? Not that I'm lazy, its just that they always clog on me.

no, a lot of the particales in solution could not be seen with the naked eye, but they could still cause irritation of some kind or at worst case, an infection or abcess.

Jesus, i can filter 20ml in 2 minutes, why the hell wouldn't you filter it? You saved a shitload of cash by making your own as is, don't be cheap 😉

Yeah but when your filtering 100 grams you need at least 10 or more filters. At $5 a pop it starts to add up. Were talking about the guys who convert larger quantities, not your little 20 grams where you only need 2 filters.

If you are constantly making large quantities then you should look into alternative filtration methods instead of just syringe filters.

Anyone care to comment? bs What he says is that if the solution has crashed filtering will filter out steroid and make it weaker.. his fina products & prop/susp have been know to crash.. no biggie just dump the jug into a vial.. make sure to get all of the crystals out and heat until clear..
