has anyone not used a filter when making their own gear from powder? isn't heating it and the BA enough to sterilize it? let me know!! thanks manho

powder forum for sure...but to answer....the filtering also removes foreign matter from the solution. My first lot of homemade Test had a piece of black lint floating in it...probably came of the sleeve of the guy who packed the powder. It was a single tiny stand of material. Remember that's only the stuff that was visible. No heating and BA is ever going to remove that. At only 5 bucks a filter its not even worth thinking about.
