doesnt it depend on the type of testing method they are using? i mean caliper testing does not measure the bf that is in the muscle correct? i have quite a few friends who compete and we all use calipers as our main method of determining our bf but then we all used a device electronic bodyfat tester maybe you guys know what im talking about but basically you get weighed and then vital statistics are put into a computer they take some measurements also and then place electronic contacts one on your hand and one on the top of your foot supposedly it sends electronic impulses through the body measuring alll bf even the bf in the muscles, anyhow we all measured nearly double of what we measured with the calipers. therefore maybe it would be possible to be near 0 percent with calipers and still be around 4 percent in reality? needless to say i usually measure around 8 percent with calipers but measured nearly 16 with this device which is something that kinda screws with your head, good thing is it calculates your lbm and mine was 190 lbs which i thought was pretty good for me since i am 5'9.

But that is still at least a 2% error. Calipers are ridiculously inaccurate. That is why bodyfat measurements mean nothing to me. Look in the mirror, are you ripped enough?

I thinkthe 5 point caliper testing (bis, tris, sub scap, supra illiac, abs) are the biggest load of shit. I was tested like that a few years back. How does that represent over all bf??

Bodyfat % Bodyweight body measurements... ALL Don't matter.....they don't ask ya that shit on stage..they judge you on how you look. 2-3% Bfat is topical fat only it does not measure intramuscular fat on both smooth and skeletal muscles....:D

Body composition is mostly predetermined genetically ... all methods of testing are just estimates made by certain assumptions. More useful as a relative tool than an objective one. < 3% and you are starting to use the fatty tissue thats vital to your life.
