Hey bros I was wondering has anyone taken insulin and metaformin at the same time and if so how did you do it? Also my buddy is using metaformin right now at 500mg four times a day and he said he is tired and he lost his hunger for food and also is getting muscle cramps is this normal or what. Please I did a search but nothing answered my questions. Thanks

Metformin help you eat some more carbs and still be lean. In med practice is used in type II diabetes and help to drop off insulin or lower the insulin doses. I never heard someone to take both

Do you know if Metformin will affect insulin sensitivity in the long run, even after discontinuing its use? I've been meaning to take metformin by itself as a diet aid with a moderately low carb diet, but I was worried it might have any long term effects. bigman - Ive heard of people taking metformin along with insulin. You should be able to make the most out of insulin this way. Your muscles ability to absorb nutrients will be greater, giving you better gains. Take it easy with the insulin at first since you could get low blood sugar easily. You may need to consume more carbs with metformin and insulin together.

In people who do not have type 2 diabetes, metformin (brand name Glucophage) can prevent or delay the onset of the disease. Therefore metformin has a positive effect on insulin sensitivity. Used with insulin, you will get a higher net anabolic effect for the same dose and I would STRONGLY recommend it's use while using insulin. Funnily enough, this is what my endocrinologist (who is also a very good friend of mine 🙂 )told me today.

I am currently using metformin alone at 1500mg ed. But also usng r-ala but at a lower dose than before using metformin. Been using it for one week so far, not sure if its really caused by it but my strength seems abit down on it and feeling a little tire especially a few hours after a workout which does not occur normally. Been talking it before workout, post workout and once more with meal all with high carbs. Definitely felt greater glycogen replenishment never felt before when using r-ala alone after postworkout with a shake. Other than that no other sides so far(fingers crossed), but will need a longer time to see any definite results/effects. And yes i have read about people using it with slin at the same time. Do you know if Metformin will affect insulin sensitivity in the long run, even after discontinuing its use? As far as i know, there is no risk of slin receptor desensitisation/downregulation in the long run. But IM b12 supplementation is required when using metformin. Anymore info on this subject? Bro, the search is back to normal and working again after the server relocation. Do a search theres quite abit of info on it here.
