Well bros, i for one am not going to argue which protein is the best. I just know what works and i stick with it. They type of whey protein(isolate or concentrate) i have consumed over the years has changed but it has always been whey. Lately i have incorporated casein for the slow absorbtion and the combination of the two is as good as you can get imo. Below is an article on whey and casein. Enjoy!

casein study

The life of whey is 4 hours within the body. I'm pretty sure I have a study on this. Also, casein is 9 hours, and I believe I have a study on this also.
I'll post 'em up later.

I'll post 'em up as soon as I can. I don't separate my abstracts, so I have to dig through them all, and I had one hell of a week.

My memory wasn't spot on. Whey - 4 hours, casein - 7 hours.

If i combine whey with a healthy fat like virgin coconut oil or olive oil, would it be enough to mimic the slow digestive properties of a casein-based protein source/drink? This is done for economical reasons.
good question, i would guess that it would definitely change the absorbtion characteristics, most likely enough to accomplish what you want. i would think simply mixing the whey with something like natural peanut butter would do it.
