I want someone to convince me why I should pay over triple the price and switch to Waxy Maze starch for insulin/carb up days over the Malodextrin I currently use. I don't use dextrose as it bloated me a bit, but the malodextrin I am currently using works great. I have not tried the waxy maze starch yet. What would make it that much better than malodextrin to be worth the extra $?

im not even sure what waxy max starch is, but i know that maltodextrin, despite being a complex carb, is the fastest digestion carbohydrate and will replenish glycogen storages at a faster rate than either dextrose or fructose based on 3 studies done by (Blom et al 1987), (ven Den Burgh et al 1996) and (Piehl et al 2000), "it appears that dextrose is 72% faster than fructose for muscle glycogen resynthesis . As a result, at the end of 8 hours, muscle glycogen was 30% higher with dextrose ingestion" However, in another study, at the end of 4 hours, muscle glycogen was 15% higher with maltodextrin ingestion vs. dextrose so i still cant comment of waxy max starch, but if its more expensive i think its hard to justify spending the extra cash on it when research seems to support maltodextrin use

the study states that it used "two energy equivalent carbohydrate drinks, one containing a polyglucoside with a mean molecular mass of 500 000-700 000 (C drink), and one containing monomers and oligomers of glucose with a mean molecular mass of approximately 500" apparently Vitargo was the polyglucoside but i dont believe maltodextrin can be classifed as a "monomer and oligomer of glucose" because is a polysaccharide, so im not sure what they used as the "other" carb in this study was as i had said b4, i didnt know what waxy maze starch was, but ill be sure to look more into because of this study, thanks
