I read somewhere that short catnaps of only 30 minutes or less can be very beneficial. That isn't so much for gains and training as overall well being. MZ

I also read that a short nap where you just enter the sleep mode (20 mins or so) is very beneficial.

However, our bodies are specially programmed for sleep. Sleep is when all your hormones like GH are released. Food is not necessary when you are sleeping.. Your body is basically shutting down. Food will usually only keep your body awake, i.e. digestion, absorption, etc. Sleep is more important than getting in that extra meal.

I take a cat nap, most every day. 30 to 45 mins, no longer. If i sleep longer, i wake up feeling shitty. try shorter naps

I agree about the importance of sleep...I've had trouble sleeping for the last 2 or 3 years, but try to take naps as often as possible...I also believe that early sleep is best...My mom told me her doc felt that every hour of sleep before midnight was worth 2 after....This was in the 50s, but holds true today.......

Sleep makes all the difference for me I have found. If I dont get at least 8 hours every night, I can forget about functioning as a regular human being the next day. Its hard actually, because a lot of my friends want to go out nightclubbing etc and I am like, "Sorry guys, cant go, need to get my sleep etc...". But fuck it, they are a bunch of X chewing skinny weeds and theres no way I would trade lives with em. BBZ

I have to sleep 9 hours/day. If for some reason I sleep only 6 hours, I get pain in the body, specially in the elbos and knees, and I cant train anyway. I fell like a shit if I havent the sleep I need.
