OK, now I am a little worried. This is a bit nasty, but what the hell, I figured someone might know. I have had a little blood in the old stooly about once every couple months. I dont usually think much about it, and forget it until it happens again. I have never been able to determine why (i.e. something particular that I do or eat to cause this). Tonight, I squated pretty heavy and came home to take a Deezy..... blood again. Quite a bit. Nothing ever really hurts, just blood. So sorry for gettin nasty, but anyone have any ideas? Should I be worried?

Is it bright red blood? If it is it could just be a hemorroid or anal fissure. However there are more serious causes as well so you may want to get it checked if it continues.

Those would be my first gesses as well, but you need to get a colon screen asap.

Freedom Is NOT Free
Good news.... No cancer (let the anal pounding jokes flow!!!). I went this morning and had a hot little female doc stick her finger up my butt and tell me that I had a small hemmeroid (sp?). She said that squattting and deadlifting heavy can sometimes aggrevate it, but it was nothing to worry about. She also gave me a 14 day script for Aciphex, because she thought I had a bit of a "pre" ulcer?? I cannot remember the name of what she said it was, but she compared it to skinning your knee, but on your stomach lining. Basically, just an irritating sore that causes upset stomach and lack of appetite. They are also doing some lab work on thyroid levels just to check and when I asked about getting blood work done to get hormone levels back, she told me that it was a waste of money unless I plan on getting them done on a regular basis for a consistent period of time because of the drastic changes hormones can make. She said that the single snapshot of levels wont give me any real idea without having quite a few other times to compare it to. I am really wanting to find out where I sit at hormonally. Where is the best place to go to get stuff like this checked? Comments on this???
P.S. I felt like Stiffler in Road Trip when he got poked by the hot nurse and wanted more! Haha, j/k, that was enough anal probing for me!

I would say still get your hormone levels checked, you don't have to get several over a consistent period of time to get an "idea" of where you're at. Also, you can go by how you feel (as to whether or not you really need the test) depending on how well you know you're own body. Don't take the test directly after a workout or first thing in the morning, take it mid-day in between meals.. that will give you a better idea of your "resting" hormone levels.
Oh, and hope your ass heals quickly
