WTF ??? LOL Ok for starters it's not the best time to get an accurate reading for a BP test. After exercise you've just killed your body so it'll be shitting itself. Do the test in just a normal part of your day when you haven't just gone and exercised. I did my last reading about 2 weeks ago and i got 125/75 which is fine. I used to get readings about 140/90 which isn't to crash hot. I'm only doing 1 thing differently to before to make the BP come down and that's a shitload of cardio. Even with the amount of coffee i drink i still get low readings when i'm hyped up to the max ๐Ÿ™‚

Text standard is ard ~120/80 ๐Ÿ™‚ Might fluctuate up or down a little as long as it doesn't get too much of difference(maybe +/- ~15-20mmHg difference? Someone correct me if i'm wrong ๐Ÿ™‚ ) it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

LOL ๐Ÿ˜€ Didn't read u took it 10mins after a workout. Take it when u're relaxed and resting and see what comes up. 147/46 is a bit worrying if thats the relaxed reading ๐Ÿ˜€ But since its after a workout it just means that the heart contraction to eject blood and relaxation for refilling are both very strong(more then normal) resulting in a high systolic and low diastolic value.

Hey step, What you really want to be concerned with is whats called mean aterial blood pressure or MAP for short. This number is an estimate of the diastolic pressure plus one third of the plus pressure: MAP=diastolic pressureP = 1/3 ( stysolic P - diastolic P) For you this means MAP= 46mm Hg + 1/3 (147- 46) MAP= 46 + 30.3 MAP= 76.3mmHG This is considered LOW 93mmHg is normal for a person with normal ranges 120/80 mmHG This formula aplies to people with heart rate in the range of 60-80 beats per minute. Abnormally low arterial b/p OR hypotension means the blood flow and oxygen supply to the brain is being impaired and you may be dizzy or faint. In my opinion get your b/p taken again the doc may have fucked up, or your workout 10 minutes prior is what stuffing your results up.Multiple consistent results are the ones to worry about. But like all physiological values they are subject to wide variability between people or at a single moment. Hope this helpes ๐Ÿ™‚ That which does not kill us makes us stronger Friedrich Nietzsche

There's no way the diastolic reading was 46 mmHg. The systolic reading is high yet the diastolic very is low???

those numbers look worrying to be honest, but the trend is what id expect when it comes to a person who has a lot of muscle mass after a workout (need for a high systolic P to overcome high peripheral resistance, the latter of course creates the low diastolic) personally id get in touch with some institute of sport/sport scientist and find out if those numbers are a drama or not, because at pressures like that weird things can happen (weird=cardiovascular event like a heart attack or stroke) but if it happened with both you and your mate, theres also the chance the machine was off cheers

Yeah, we didn't exactly know how to use it. Just put the arm strap on and pressed start. Strap pumped up and it spat out some numbers, then after about about 30 seconds gave the BP reading.

I think the machine is off. Its always better to have it checked with a good ol stethoscope and sphygmomamometer (sp?).
