I read in magazines that when trying to add more definition to your physique that striking a hard pose is good practice. Is this mainly for bodybuilders about to enter a contest or does posing give benefits other than if you are entering a contest and want to practice your posing rhoutine.
i have read in several magazines and online that you can develop small characteristics to your muscles by posing and flexing. the small triceps peaks for example.

i think posing is a great addition to any workout. If you are 16% bf probably will not show much but at lower bf, it can bring out definitions not seen otherwise.

Posing is awesome, Shawn Ray was a big advocate of posing even during your routine to harden the muscles. I usually just hit poses in the locker room after a workout.. even so, I think it has helped with definition and hardness... If you're a competetive BB'er, than you definitely should as you're going to need to hold those poses during your pre-judging and routine.. and anyone who's done it, knows that shit isn't a joke !! So practice like anything else

I think it's even better when your gym has a pose room.

You never seen a pump room area with a miror in a corner or something in a gym? Bro where do you train ?

IMO noting adds the finished hard look to a lean physique better than flexing hard and holding that pose as long as possible. After 10-15 minutes of proper posing you should be dripping wet with sweat and drained of energy.
