i eat half of a power bar and an iso-pure 40g whey isolate drink before working out, half after following 25g soy 25g whey later on and never get sore... just get that warm fuzzy feeling in my arms the next day that means I did something right.

I never do any exercise without eating something first. Even when trying to lean out, I get some protein first, at least. Protein only (whey in water) if I'm doing cardio first thing in the am. I never lift without having some complex carbs first.

I will feel like cramps on my hands and sudden exhaustion without eating before working out or without meal replacement. tried to workout in the morning on empty stomach, I got burned out in just 20 minutes.

Another day, Another challange and Opportunity

Are you lifting weights on a empty stomach? I feel like s#@t whenever I do cardio on a empty stomach!

Nobody should lift weights on a empty stomach. We need the energy that comes from the carbs to train hard. Besides that, it can be danderous too, e.g. imagine bench pressing while having a hypoglycemic episode due no carbing and no spotting around... R.I.P.

If I'm on a strip down I find a chocolate, coffee and whey/cassinate shake works great before a workout or carbio, and after I like a whey/cassinate mix with complex and simple carb mix ie banana porrdge with honey and a hand full of sunflower seeds. I have a very fast met rate, so getting lean is just not a problem for me.
